West Coast of New Zealand

November 2

After our over-night boat trip through Doubtful Sound, we decided to head back to Queenstown and spend one more night in Queenstown (our favorite town in NZ) before driving up to the Glacier Country (Franz Joseph and Fox Glaciers).

The drive up to the Glaciers was about 6 hours along the west coast of New Zealand with stunning views all along the way.  It's probably likely to arrive in 4.5 or 5 hours, but Gene and I had to stop every 20 minutes or so to take pictures of the beautiful views.

Here are a few of the beautiful sights we got to take in during our drive...

Leaving Queenstown

Southern end of Lake Wanaka

Lake Hawea
The road wrapped around this lake for a while so we took quite a few pictures.  As you can see, it was too incredible not to stop and take a photo.

Pony that we passed in a pasture along Haast Beach during our walk

Salmon farm that we stopped at along the way.  Here are two of the salmon.  We ate salmon almost every night.
