Tim & Nicki (the newlyweds) Arrive in St. Lucia!

Tuesday, April 9th - Wednesday, April 10th

Our friends Tim and Nicki (whose wedding we had just attended in Maui, Hawaii), came to visit us for part 2 of their honeymoon.  Part 1 of their honeymoon was spent in a few of the Hawaiian islands following their wedding.  Hawaii AND the Caribbean - Not a bad way to relax post-wedding!

When Tim and Nicki arrived at the boat in Rodney Bay, we spent the evening provisioning.  The next morning, we woke up and sailed down to Soufriere.  We got stopped by the St. Lucia coast guard as we were approaching our favorite bay in the Pitons area.  It turns out that someone famous rented out the entire Sugar Beach Resort and the Piton Bay (between the two Pitons) so no boats were aloud to moor in the bay that evening.  We anchored in Soufriere Bay instead and went into town for a drink later that night.  We found out from some of the locals that Matt Damon had rented out the resort and bay for his wife's birthday and that there were several celebrities on the island to celebrate with them.

We did manage to take a dingy ride through the bay to get a quick glimpse, but unfortunately no celebrity sightings.

Shot of Petit Piton with some celebrity's yacht anchored in front.  This is probably the most beautiful picture I have of Petit Piton after the 5 weeks we spent in St. Lucia!  Gene and I were sad to say good-bye since St. Lucia has basically been our main "home" in the Caribbean this year.
