The Taj Mahal & Agra, India

September 9

Vik's driver took us to Agra to see the Taj Mahal.  The mausoleum is absolutely stunning!  It is built entirely of white marble with decorative carvings etched into the marble and inlaid precious stones.  A very intricate design!  The Taj Mahal was build by Emporer Shah Jahan in memory of his third wife, Mumtaz Mahal.

This is Hari, Vik's driver, who was our amazing tour guide for a couple of days!

Smaller mausoleum next to the Taj Mahal

These are some shots of the city of Agra where the Taj Mahal is located.  We really enjoyed seeing the camels.

Bulls in the back of the truck, they call them buffalo

This was what the traffic was like in Agra.  This guy was in front of us.

Street banana market

More interesting traffic on the road

We saw these bulls running down the street, no one corralling them!

Bulls are also part of the traffic in Agra

Tuk tuk being repairs (at first we though it had flipped over, but apparently this is how they get to the engine to do repairs)

This is called the baby Taj, a smaller version of the mausoleum nearby the Taj
