We decided to do another guided tour with SeaCat. Unfortunately, all of us were sick with the flu - SeaCat, Gene and I all caught something during Carnival. Apparently the bug has been going around as most people that we met got sick after Carnival. We still wanted to get off the boat and do something active, so we met up with SeaCat in the morning, and he took us to a few attractions on the island.
Our first stop was Emerald Falls - usually packed with tourists off the cruise ships, but luckily on this day there were no cruise ships in port.
Next stop was a hike / repelling down a mountain to a beautiful black sand beach on the east coast of the island where a fresh waterfall falls directly into the ocean. The name of the town where the hike begins is called Riviere Cyrique, so this was the Riviere Cyrique beach.

Gene and SeaCat swimming in the ocean. There was a really strong rip current.

After the hike, we got back in SeaCat's van and drove to Moses's restaurant. Moses is a Rasta who lives at the start of the Victoria Falls trail head. Year ago when SeaCat started doing guided hikes to Victoria Falls, SeaCat would stop into Moses's house for some food. Eventually SeaCat talked Moses into charging people for his food! So Moses started a little "Rastarant" on his property where he makes a big pot of stew solely from the fruits and veggies on his property, and he serves this stew to hikers at the Victoria Falls trailhead. The menu is the same everyday - vegetable stew - and you can have as many bowls as you like. We spent some time walking around Moses's garden where he grows his fruit and veggies for his restaurant.
