Jazz
at Jambe De Bois
Gene's
Mom (Laura) and his cousin (Eric) came to visit us on Sunday for a
week of fun in St. Lucia. Eric was on Spring Break from Med School
at UAB which he told us was an extremely welcome break from the
difficult classes and endless studying. Gene had arranged a taxi /
island tour for them from the airport (located at the southern end of
the island) to Rodney Bay (northern end of the island). By the time
they arrived at the boat, they had officially seen more of St.
Lucia's interior than Gene and I had! They enjoyed the cab ride and
had a great time with Paul, their guide/driver.
Every
Sunday night, the restaurant on Pigeon Island – Jambe De Bois –
has a live jazz band, so we decided to take Laura and Eric. The
music was great! We may just have to go back next Sunday. All of
the instrumentals did a solo portion. The saxophone was probably our
favorite, and the singer was awesome, mixing in some blues songs.
