Boiling Lake with The Kings & The Jennings

Friday, May 24

During our first visit to Dominica, Gene and I went on the Boiling Lake hike with SeaCat and it was arguably our favorite experience of our time in Dominica.  We were excited to experience it again with our friends.

Here are some shots of our 2nd Boiling Lake experience...

Titou Gorge - the start of the Boiling Lake hike.  Later in the day, after completing the hike, SeaCat takes Ted, Megan, Scott, and Rosalyn into the gorge.

Here's Gene, booking it up the first set of many, many stairs along the trail.

Taking a break after a steep uphill climb.  Here's the view down the steps where the trail drops off out of view.

Here we are with SeaCat, half-way point!  Our war-paint is starting to wash away from the rain - except for Megan's whose war paint managed to stay on for the rest of the trip.

Making our way down into the Valley of Desolation

The Boiling Lake - we finally made it!

Here's Ted, Megan, Gene, and Scott carefully peering over the edge into the Boiling Lake.

SeaCat preparing our lunch (yep, best tour guide ever).
This was just before the monsoon, prior to the bread getting soggy.
