Marin, St. Anne, Point Salines, Depaz Distillery - Martinique

May 6 - 15

We spent a couple weeks in Martinique, our second visit to this French island, to explore some of the southern areas that our friends highly recommended.  Marin and St. Anne are absolutely beautiful and huge sailing communities.  Marin is host to all of the charter companies with amazing brand new French catamarans, so we enjoyed walking around the docks and checking out the boats.   St. Anne is just east of Marin with beautiful beaches (Point Salines), hiking trails, and a cute town with great restaurants and bars.

Here are some pictures from our time in Marin and St. Anne, arguably our favorite areas in Martinique.

This local sailing regatta took place one afternoon through our anchorage in Cul-De-Sac Du Marin.

We spent one day at Point Salines, a beautiful beach located at the very end of St. Anne.

We left the southern end of Martinique after a week and sailed north to St. Pierre where we planned to spend a couple of days before heading to Dominica.

We spent a couple of days in St. Pierre (our second visit to this town in Martinique).  We spent one afternoon at the Depaz Distillery where you can walk through the distillery to watch the processing of the Depaz rum, and sample the rums at the end of the tour.

  1. I have a really cool didgeridoo techno'ish CD that I bought from some street performers in Sydney Harbor. I'll have to play it for you guys some time, really good stuff. Glad to see you finally made another post Kat, I was feeling empty inside!
